地球の本棚プロジェクト（Earth Bookshelf Project）始動！
本を旅しながら、世界を旅し、お互いの歴史や文化、物語に触れ、・・・そのような本を通した交流が、国を越えた相互理解の機会となれば・・・そんな想いで「地球の本棚プロジェクト」を始めました。
学校間で本を交換するという、シンプルなプロジェクトです。子供たちが、お互いの歴史や文化を理解する新たな機会とします。
Traveling through these books is like traveling the world—touching each other’s history, culture, and stories. We started the "Earth Bookshelf Project" for children with the hope that this kind of exchange through books would create opportunities for mutual understanding beyond country borders.
It is a simple initiative centered on the exchange of books between schools, creating new opportunities for children to learn about and appreciate each other's history and culture.

「地球の本棚プロジェクト」の概要

＊注1：参加する学校は、日本の基準における、小学校・中学校・高等学校に相当する学校とします。
＊注2：本を交換する相手校は、同年代のこども達が通う学校となります。（例：小学校と小学校、中学校と中学校、高等学校と高等学校、など）
プロジェクトの活動内容
要するに、参加校同士で、お互いに本を贈り合い、贈られた本を図書館などの一角に「地球の本棚」として展示して、こども達が自由に閲覧するという、非常にシンプルな交流プロジェクトです。
贈られた本は、その国の言葉で書いてあるので、文字も違うかもしれませんが、スマートフォンやタブレット端末のカメラを通せば、自分達の言葉として見えてきます。言葉や文字の違いも、暗号を解読するつもりで、興味を持ってもらえればと思っています。

Overview of the Earth Bookshelf Project

3. Participating Schools from Various Countries
Note 1: Participating schools must be equivalent to elementary, junior high, or high schools under the Japanese education system.
Note 2: Partner schools exchanging books will be paired with peers of the same age group (e.g., elementary school with elementary school, junior high with junior high, high school with high school).
Project Activities:
In short, this is a very simple exchange project where participating schools gift books to one another. The received books are then displayed in a dedicated corner of the school library or a similar space as the "Earth Bookshelf," allowing children to browse through them freely.
Since the gifted books are written in the language of their country of origin, the script and characters may look completely different. However, by looking through the camera of a smartphone or tablet, children can view them in their own language. We hope they will spark an interest in these differences in language and script, approaching them with the curiosity of cracking a secret code.
